Facebook, Yahoo and Netflix are the most supplanted brands to steal data

This was revealed by the "Brand Phishing Report 2019" report of the cybersecurity company Check Point, in which attempts at ataques phishing ’attacks around the world during the last three months of last year have been analyzed.
Facebook was the most imitated brand in 2019 in phishing attacks - in which cybercriminals pose as a company to earn user data and their accounts - and has accumulated 18% of attacks of this type globally, they also affect companies like Yahoo and Netflix.
In the global ranking of ‘phishing’, behind Facebook are the volume of Yahoo attacks, second with 10%; Netflix, third with 5%; as well as other technology companies such as Microsoft (3%), Spotify (3%), Apple (2%) and Google (2%).
However, during the last quarter of the year there were large differences between the marks used in each attack vector, according to Check Point in a statement.

The attacks through the web were the most frequent and comprised 48% of all phishing attacks in the fourth quarter of 2019. Cybercriminals in this category chose to impersonate companies like Spotify, Microsoft, PayPal and Facebook.
