If you are an avid tennis player, coach, or one of those people who becomes a tennis superfan as the late spring and early summer roll around, then the SwingVision app is one you will want to download.
We fall into the latter camp. We love tennis, but we don’t play it all year round. Instead, we usually watch one of the big tournaments, like Wimbledon or Roland-Garros, and we’re reminded how much we love the sport, and how much we can’t wait to whip out our racket and hit those delicious yellow balls over (or into) the net.
What is SwingVision AI?
The SwingVision AI app is a mobile app that runs on a number of Apple devices, including the iPad, iPhone and Apple Watch, with the ultimate goal of improving your tennis game.
The app was created in 2014 and offers a number of great features, from challenging line calls with slow motion replay, analyzing shot stats for speed, depth, accuracy and rally length, creating video highlights and allowing you to filter by certain shots like forehand or backhand, tracking match results and stats and measuring your progress with weekly goals.

How does the SwingVision AI app work?
The SwingVision AI app is designed to replace what would have previously been a very expensive installation of ten on-court cameras to track your tennis game and provide commentary and analysis.

As you play, audio will announce scores and stats in real time, and it's also possible to challenge line calls in real time, just as when you're playing a match. When challenging line calls, you'll be able to instantly see a slow-motion replay of the shot, along with a decision on whether the ball is considered in or out.
What do you need to get the most out of SwingVision?
You can film your practice or game with an iPad or iPhone and you don't need an Apple Watch, but it will add to the experience if you have one, offering real-time stats on your wrist.

The iPad Pro (2021) features Wide and Ultra Wide camera lenses, giving you a full view of the court when placed on a tripod for an indoor court, or a fence mount when you’re at an outdoor court. The latest iPhones also offer Wide and Ultra Wide lenses, so these will be able to film what you need, too. iPad Air (2022).
