Mobile World Congress, the most important event in the mobile industry, was canceled by its organizers due to concerns about the spread of the coronavirus.

“With all due respect to the safe and healthy environment in Barcelona and the host country today, GSMA canceled the MWC Barcelona 2020 due to the global concern regarding the coronavirus outbreak. Concerns about transfers and other circumstances make it impossible for GSMA to hold the event, ”said John Hoffman, executive director of the conference organizer, GSMA Ltd., in a statement to Bloomberg News.

AT&T said “the most responsible decision” is not to attend the congress to protect employees and customers.
